1 John 4:9-11 God showed how much he loved us by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him. 10 This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins. 11 Dear friends, since God loved us that much, we surely ought to love each other.

About Us

Thompson Farms is a family owned and operated business so nothing is produced  that we wouldn't feed to our own family. We believe in the saying "know your farmer, know your food".

The business started with a firm foundation of faith and family by Raymond Thompson and his son Andrew. Today, it continues on as a family business with Andrew and his sister, Donna Storey running the operation along with a team of valued employees.

On the farm, we raise pigs on pasture from farrow to finish. We have a federally inspected harvesting center and processing plant on the farm so we can control the quality of our pork from start to finish! For the last two decades, we've been producing top quality pork for retail and wholesale for our local community and all over the U.S. Our pork is certified NonGMO by NonGMO Project and we are also Animal Welfare certified by Global Animal Partnership.

In 2020, we expanded our expertise into beef, partnering with Andrew's daughter, Abby & her husband's family cattle farm to supply quality pasture raised, grain finished beef. They own and operate our "farm direct" meat shop, Herd and Passel, in Thomasville, GA where they sell our pasture raised pork and their beef that we harvest and process at the farm.

We also offer custom beef processing for local folks in the area. Contact us for more information about custom processing.

Pasture Raised Pork

Our hogs are raised on our pastured land year round, never confined to crates or cages. They are able to root, roam, graze and just be pigs! We have a rotational grazing system in place which allows us to give our hogs something green to forage on while at the same time allowing pastures to rest and regenerate. We raise a variety of breeds like the heritage Duroc and Berkshire. Along with rye grass and millet that they enjoy throughout the year, our pigs also receive high quality NonGMO grain.

Herd and Passel

Pasture Raised Beef

Andrew's daughter, Abby, and her husband raise cattle on his family's farm just 15 minutes down the road from Thompson Farms. The cattle is raised and finished on their farm, never sent to a conventional feed lot. The cattle are always on pasture with access to grazing and are given peanut hay and free choice grain (mix of sunflower seeds, corn kernels, citrus pulp and soybean) for 60-90 days prior to harvest. The beef is dry aged for 14-21 days and carefully butchered into beautifully tender cuts of beef.

You can order a selection of their beef HERE or visit Abby and Zack's "farm to shelf" meat shop in Thomasville- Herd and Passel.

Craft Butchery

We are able to control every step of our product from raising the animal to packaging the meat. Our onsite processing facility gives us the ability to pay close attention to the quality of our own meat instead of relying on a big processor.

We have an excellent team of butchers who carefully craft each cut. We process a wide variety of fresh, smoked and fully cooked items.
